  • Just for clarification.
I have used Copy+ to upgrade my Thmpson PVR4 HD box with a 1TB drive. I created an image file and still have it.

So if I understood what Extract does, I can use it on the image file created by Copy+ to extract films, programs HD?, and any recorded content, like my full series of Star Trek Voyager etc. and automatically convert them to mpg files. I have a netwoked NAS and Media server that stores the movies for playback on various laptops/PS3′s/media players around the house.

So I could simply save these mpg’s to my NAS media share and play. Right?

  • Most if not all your recordings will be encrypted. There is no known method of decrypting the recordings and would be illegal to decrypt anyway, depending on the laws of the country the user resides in.

  • I am kind of lost as to the purpose of this progam then!

  • For extracting ‘free-to-air’ recordings only.

  • HOw do I distinguish what are free to air programs?

  • A fly in the ointment. I would like to use this software to extract FTA radio shows, so audio only and convert them to mp3 on my PC. Am I in the right place or is your software designed exclusively to extract video. In danger of crawling but I think your doing a great job on this, many thanks

  • I’ve never recorded FTA radio but see no reason why +Extract couldn’t/wouldn’t extract this type of ‘recording’.

If it appears in your recording ‘Planner’ then it should extract.

  • thanks for your prompt reply. I will certainly give it a go and post my results here. Thanks once again.

  • Oh well, Copy plus worked fine no problem but the +extract would not recognise the sky+ drive(XTV) even though it was in my computer and the copy plus recognised it ok. Earlier versions of +extract found the drive but wouldn’t work. By the way Im using Windows 7 professional might this be the problem?

  • There was a significant alteration to the way +Extract parses the Sky+ hdd, from version 4.0.2 onwards. So the latest licensed version 0.4.0.4 should handle your drive correctly.

Maybe if any licensed version (0.4.0.2+) users are reading this blog could kindly try recording a FTA radio program and see if +Extract can extract it? We would be obliged :-)

  • I have downloaded, installed the latest vision of +extract, liecenced it and installed .net 4 on my window 7 set up.

It scans the drive and tells me how many programmes are on the drive etc. BUT does not display the drive icons and list of what is on the drive, so I can’t select anything to extract? This is a 64 bit set up and therefore won’t install .net 2 but shouldn’t .net 4 64 bit be backwardly compatable? (if that is the problem?) Any help would be appreciated.

  • Could you please email me a screenshot and the log file (log tab > save file). Use the email function within the help menu of +Extract.

    Thanks.
